By the time children are ready to move from the sink or infant tub into the family tub, most are ready to turn tubtime into fun time

Create an island
Out of a piece of floating foam rubber, I made an island for my two children to play with at bathtime. My son uses it along with his toy pirate figures and my daughter uses it with her mermaid dolls. Each one also has a shell collection that he or she places along the shore of the island. The only problem is that they find it very hard to end their play

I was delighted that my daughter, Erica, loved her bath. What surprised me was that even at four months of age, she loved bath toys. Her favourites were little plastic floating ducks. She clearly learned a lot by kicking them and watching me hold them under and let go so that they'd pop up again. It even made her laugh
