The NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) has recently released a ease of use rating program to educate parents and caregivers about child safety seat features and which are easy to use as well as to assist you in narrowing your choices by selecting the appropriate child safety seat for your needs. While these ratings are a valuable resource, remember to make sure the child safety seat you select fits in your vehicle before you purchase it.Under the new rating system, child restraints are given an overall ease-of-use rating at the "A", "B" or "C" levels, with a seat that has an overall "A" rating being the easiest to use.

These seats are not necessarily safer than other seats, but if a seat is hard to assemble, install, or use, and you are not using it correctly, your child may be more likely to be injured than if you were using an easier to use seat correctly.
